Copenhagen Business School
Program Strengths

When students join the Copenhagen Business School Global Executive MBA (GEMBA), they become part of an intensive learning experience that includes four different continents but remains deeply rooted in Scandinavian excellence. During the 20-month program, students participate in 11 weekly modules that take place in Copenhagen, London, Shanghai, Chicago, and Kampala. Structured in three terms that cover business leadership and organization, new financial strategies, and business innovation, courses build on one another, allowing students to first develop an understanding of the organization, then its operating environment. In the third and final term, students focus on innovating the organization for long-term success.

Curriculum Highlights

GEMBA offers insights into effective, Scandinavian-style leadership where flat hierarchies are the norm. The program explores how to establish and foster an innovative culture that ensures long-term success and how to lead a sustainable organization in a responsible manner. The program also extensively developed the new financial strategies area in the wake of the financial crisis. Acknowledging the rapidly changing financial landscape during the last few years, courses in this area aim to provide the necessary skills and tools to lead a company with healthy balance sheets, as well as successfully navigate the wider macroeconomic environment.

Leadership Development

Participants join with a minimum of three years of managerial experience and class average of nine years. The GEMBA helps students further develop their leadership capabilities to the highest level. At the end of the journey, students will acquire the tools, skills, and knowledge to:

  • Better understand their business and the environment in which it operates
  • Effectively lead their organization through turbulent as well as favorable market conditions
  • Evaluate and execute a successful corporate strategy
